IceCatch started in the winter of 2018 when Aziz Nazarov — a lifelong Charvak fisherman — noticed that visitors to Uzbekistan had no way to experience ice fishing with a real local guide. The lakes were full of fish. The winters were cold and consistent. All that was missing was a bridge between the ice and the curious traveller.
With one guide, one van, and a box of fishing gear, Aziz took his first group of six tourists out on Charvak Reservoir in January 2018. Every single person caught fish. Everyone asked to come back.
By 2026, IceCatch has become Uzbekistan's most-reviewed ice fishing tour operator — with 12 certified guides, hundreds of five-star reviews, and a reputation built entirely on honest, authentic, safety-first ice fishing experiences.
